Dash of Destruction, it’s free but…

About 12 days ago, a new free to play arcade game was released for your xbox 360 and I must say the timing couldn’t be better with the holidays coming up: enough time to waste on a new game. The only question is if this Doritos sponsored game is able to amuse you longer than half an hour… (read more…)

Install the C&C gold edition on Windows Vista

Posted in Free Games on December 10th, 2008

About a year ago, the Command & Conquer Gold Edition was released as a free download. As a RTS fan, I really like it, but the downside of the game is that it’s quite old, so it’s not directly compatible with windows Vista (the installer even crashes if you do something wrong). So here’s a short guide how to get it working on Vista. (read more…)

The corruption caused by High Definition Televisions

Posted in opinion on December 6th, 2008

WIth the coming of the so called “next gen” console, it was possible to play games with better graphics than usual by buying a High Definition (HD) television. First I was pretty skeptical about that, but now I have one, I can’t agree more: a HD television really boosts up the graphics. However, better graphics don’t seem to be the only reason why you should buy a HD television these days. Some games are nearly unplayable if you don’t have one. (read more…)

Epic…. fails yet again: more GoW2 bugs

Posted in glitches on November 26th, 2008

It’s interesting to see how many bugs you can put in one game, don’t they test the games before releasing them at all? The first Gears of war was full of bugs, but the second beats the first with astonishing numbers. So, what are the new bugs? First of all: two leaders in one team with guardian, and the second one is epic lag: you don’t start in the new round if you died in the last one. (read more…)

GoW2 ranked matchmaking glitch: 6vs4

Not only is the Gears of War 2 Matchmaking as slow as hell, but there’s also an opportunity to turn the matchmaking system to your advantage: 6vs4. That means, you are with a party of 6 against a random team who can only team up with 4 persons because your 6th party member is taking up the last slot. Here’s how I think you do it (only happened to me once, and it was a accident, so I couldn’t take a picture because the 6th player won’t appear in the player list and people always seem to scatter around the level, but I’ll describe it as good as I can and I’m quite sure that there were 6 players on my team). Gears of War 2 matchmaking sucks

Posted in opinion on November 24th, 2008

I guess the title can’t be much clearer than it is: The matchmaking system of Gears of War 2 sucks. Not because the idea behind it is bad, in some points it’s really better than Halo’s matchmaking system (hooray for the players choice options), but it is so incredibly slow that you can forget really playing the game online. Because I’m totally out of inspiration, I’ll just post some content that’s pretty site related from my other blog, Internet Spotter. It’s a monthly topic called “Time Wasters of the month” and it consists of one open source game, one flash game, one downloadable free game, one browser based game and one paid game, so that means that there are 4 free games and one paid game in each post. Top 10 games that have changed my opinion about the Wii

Posted in opinion on October 21st, 2008

About one and a half year ago, the Wii arrived in stores. It promised a whole new way of controlling your games, slightly better graphics than on the GameCube and even online options, making it a worthy “next-gen” console. Being a Nintendo fanboy, I believed this, and bought the console a few days after its release. Nearly a year after that event, I bought an Xbox 360. The reason why I did that is simple: the Wii is not what I expected it to be; it disappointed me. So, why isn’t the Wii what I expected it to be? (read more…)
